I'm completely comfortable setting aside the clear implication that Conservative or Reform synagogues are inherently lesser, because we should focus on the fact that by their own definitions doesn't have space for כלל ישראל but that every other movement does.

I would refuse to put my name to a statement that embarrassing.

Heretic in the House podcast

I've been listening to the "Heretic in the House" podcast hosted by Professor Naomi Seidman. It's a short series of about five episodes that explores attitudes towards people who leave the Orthodox Jewish Community to live a life that is "Off the Derech", or "Off the Path".

Ahavas Yisrael - love of one's fellow - is the vessel for Ahavas HaShem, love of God. It is said that through Ahavas Yisrael, one will eventually come to Ahavas HaShem, and then to Ahavas HaTorah.

Let's commit ourselves this year to building awareness of the importance of , and reach out even more to Jews of any denomination in our local communities and states. Despite differences we're still family.

Orthodox and Non-Orthodox Jews working together - The Shalom Hartman Institute
is a institute for Jewish thought and education, for scholars, rabbis, educators, and community leaders in and North America. The goal is to strengthen Jewish identity, enhance the Jewish and democratic character of Israel, and ensure that is a compelling force for good in the 21st century.

Did you know - on several occasions rabbis in Orthodox, Conservative and Reform Judaism worked to heal rifts in our community. If more people know about these enterprises it could inspire our own generation to help restore

Agreed. For far too long most ideas within Chassidus were effectively not available to those of us in Modern Orthodoxy or non-Orthodox Judaism. It is beautiful that today there is so much more exploration of Chassidic ideas.

(I also love ideas from outside Judaism as well)

So you don’t like or perhaps dislike . I get it; people have reasons. But what to do about it? Vent, tell people that they are wrong? I’m not here to change your mind about your denomination. Just realize that sways us into , makes us feel like we empower “our” group by belittling others. But that's not helpful. Here's a positive way forward based on love that can bring all Jews closer together

@sowersian All Reform Jews I know - and all Orthodox and Conservative Jews - reject the idea that God is a man or a woman. All gender terms are at best allegorical or poetic.
In all forms of Jewish theology - even liberal ones - it is considered avodah zarah to believe that God is anthropomorphic.
