@ernie @vwestlife I guess #OS3 was not an option to avoud confusion with #System360 devices and #OS4 was propably some codename that never went further.

OFC #OS5 may be unrelated to #OS2 entirely.

It shurely is unrelated to #OSv which is designed to only run in VMs!

I'm just gald that #hp stuff works with everything out of the box - including even ancient and latest #Linux distros...

The only machines with better compatibility are #NeedlePrinters and #Xerox #WorkCentre Laser machinces, cuz those even come with #MSDOS, #OS2 and #Unix drivers for obscure stuff like #Solaris 7.x #HPUX and #AUX...

Puttering around in the cellar I ran across this old letter from a subscriber to the magazine I worked for. They were cancelling because of something I said about Unix.

I vaguely remember this letter. But if that person had that interpretation of something I wrote, I must really have slipped up. I don't have the article handy so I can't tell now. Nor is it important, I was just amused by finding this.

The letter also seems a bit self-contradictory, but space is short here ;)

Vintage Thinkpads.

T42 from 2004 running OS/2 v4 and IBM Warp Server, 755CD from 1994 running Windows 3.1/Windows 95 (dual boot), X61s from 2007 running Xubuntu.

It took some time to get OS/2 installed, but it's running now with USB support, networking and sound all enabled.

Everyone's got to have a hobby.

Hallo ich habe gerade bemerkt, das ich in Tuxedo OS2 über Discover nun SNAP Pakete zur Installation angezeigt bekomme.

Wie kann das sein? Ich dachte Tuxedo nutzt kein Snap. Des weiteren kann ich die Paketquelle auch nicht entfernen?
