Side Tangent: Anyone else annoyed that Disney+ treats each individual short as it’s own feature film? Clumping them all together into a single show probably isn’t ideal either (looking at you Looney Tunes on Max) but even stuff like “Classic Mickey Mouse”, “Classic Donald Duck” etc would be more intuitive and user friendly than this.

The Mouse's copyright status expires at the END of 2023 -- meaning it won't be up for grabs until Jan 1st of next year (2024)

I'm surprised more ppl aren't bringing up Oswald, given his latest resurgence in the Disney spotlight.
His first 9 cartoons were created in 1927, and thus will be entering public domain in just a couple of days! These cartoons also include his love interest Ortensia, their many Bunny Children, and Peef the Peg-Legged Bear (prototype to Pete)
*: However, it should be noted that Oswald is trademarked, like Mickey.
A relatively safe bet in using the rabbit is redacting his "Lucky" title in any derivative works, as well as not giving him blue pants as in his current incarnation.
