Some days ago, I had to reset an older MacBook using Internet Recovery (which installs the stock version of the OS at the time the machine was released) which was… OS X Mavericks 😍!
It took me by surprise—I had forgotten how it used to look before “the flattening”. I spent a few moments to just click around for fun... OS X just wanted you to stay and use all the fancy panels, menus and inspectors, and they worked really well.

Trying out desktop #Mastodon #apps for #osx. Went through Mast, Mastonaut and Whalebird. Now Mona in testing. So far feels the most promising of these, tho Whalebird wasn’t bad either.

But even basic functionality like boosts are behind paywall in Mona. #wtf
