Just learned that I’ve been pronouncing Ōtaki and Kāpiti incorrectly for the last 50 years

I knew I was pronouncing Paraparaumu incorrectly, (“Paraparam” is the ignorant westernised version), which should actually be pronounced as written. My only excuse is that I’m a child of the 60s

Every year there is a wonderful weekend #Kite Festival in #Otaki Beach, #NZ. Lovely weather for it, but could do with a bit more wind, as evidenced by this Eagle trying to take off. 😀
