@MikeFerdinando @darkade I agree. WotC’s editions have never been compatible with each other. That’s one of the great things about #oTSR editions. I think with their emphasis on VTTs they are moving D&D out of the #TTRPG arena all together. TTRPGers won’t recognize the game in 5 years.

@Alexander_Anotherskip_Davis likely that is the real impetus behind Hasbro/WotC’s action. Whether your looking to #CR #LegendofVoxMachina, #Riddick, or #Mythica, you’re looking at better #DnD cross merchandising than anything #oTSR or #Hasbro #WotC has done, likely including the upcoming official dnd film.

@dcbradshaw But won’t be stripped of the 1-1a OGL for everything else.

With luck, #Hasbro will be forced to sell #WotC or at least #DnD to someones who, like the original WotC and #oTSR, loves the game and the community because of the huge flop this will be for them. Or they could just pack up their ball and go home, refusing to publish anything further, like Gail has done with Gary Gygax’s other IP.

We’ll just have to wait and see what becomes official and how many bridges it burns.
