The city of #ottawa responded to the large push back on the "safer roads program" test ads... and agreed to pull them because of the term "jaywalking" ...

Not because anyone in public works involved in the creation and approval of this bullshit realized that, hey, we've created, perpetuated and criminalized people making choices outside of cars to keep themselves safe because the city is fundamentally hostile to folks outside of cars #ottbike #ottwalk #publictransportation

Last winter, my partner and I took OC Transpo to visit his parents in Orleans. This is the bus stop (in summer): A paved slab w no sidewalk. In winter the slab isn't cleared so we were dropped at the side of a busy, high speed road w 3' of snow.
