De struikelstenen in Harlingen kwamen er in 2012 op initiatief van de #Stichting #Oud #Harlingen. Die was op het idee gebracht doordat ze er zelf eentje zagen in #Hamburg. De stichting zocht sponsoren en dat ging direct voorspoedig. In een maand tijd hadden ze het meer geld dan nodig was en konden ze aan de slag.
