I watched the half talk on #OurNetworks

I thought mesh networks would be cool for internet connectivity in crowds, and for non-reliance on back bone.

So I looked around, and I found some talks from a conference called #ournetworks

The talks I found were strange and varied. Including a talk on Radio Weather "Now casting" and Feminist Seances.

There was a talk on NYC mesh, a DIY community owned network connecting people to the internet in New York.

The years of the talks go: 2018, 2019,2020.

So I think, I wonder what happened ?

I go to there website, were there advertising the next conference.

It went from being a conference, to a collaborative writing exercise about a fictional conference in 2047.

Giving me real "Institute of Post Humanities Studies" vibes.

They have some writing events coming up as you can see on there site.

So ye, added to calendar.

This years' #ournetworks is coming up-- starting next week we have some writathons (think wikipedia #editatons) and you can sign up to recieve a mailer from 2047 📫 .

If you want to co-write and speculate together on a future full of #solarpunk #mesh networks and #slowcomputing, or building and governing our own #infrastructures join us (it's free!)

After a year of hibernation, we're excited to invite you to join us for an experimental online event - something between an alternate reality conference, and wiki as collaborative science fiction. Drawing inspiration from our favourite sci-fi authors we’re headed to a future for Our Networks 2̶0̶2̶2̶ 2047.

We are seeking session leaders to spend at max a couple hours writing abstracts and pitches for the hypothetical conference programming and spending some time checking in on a wiki over the two weeks of the event.
