#Udeskole (“Outdoor School”) is an approach many Scandi schools use to prioritize outdoor and hands-on ed. Studies about Udeskole say 👍.
My 4th grade teacher took us on outdoor educational “saunters” weekly. I learned valuable educational and life lessons that year, it helped our class process a major world event, and I was permanently inspired.

Stevens Creek Nature Preserve is our own little slice of heaven, just five minutes from our house in Matthews, North Carolina. (OK, so it’s technically a shared natural space, but since we get to use it for hikes whenever we want, we feel a bit of ownership now! And stewardship!)
