I think this is where I picked up the tick. To the left, down the hill off camera there’s a path, slightly overgrown as the footfall has been less due to the new road building nearby.

If you are going to get bit I suppose it’s better for it to be nice to look at….

I did check myself for ticks as I was on my walk, at various points.

I wore trousers on my second walk, but stupidly took a path through grasses whilst wearing long shorts on my morning walk. I’m blaming my route choice on way back more than my wardrobe choice as it was an unnecessary deviation from my outward route.

Went for a morning walk, came home 3 hours later and devoured 2 ham rolls, 2 chocolate chip biscuits, 2 oat biscuits and 2 coffees.😋

On the homeward leg I did see something rather unusual out of the corner of my eye. On the ground, on the forest track I was walking, there was something rather colourful, and unnatural.

A stitched eye from a soft toy I think. It seemed to have been there a wee while so I thought I’d take it rather than let it rot.

I’m thinking of sewing it onto a hat, with a patched eye on the other side.

Before I got onto today’s plans I took an early walk.

Must do it that early more often, I saw many more birds, and ones I hadn’t seen before.

Went to roughly the same area as the other week, north of Scone, but this time I got to go one of my (now) regular routes which had recently been off limits due to logging activity.

Got some “useful reading” done and then my Dad popped in and asked if I wanted to go for a walk. 🚶 Couldn’t turn that down. You miss things with grandparents, you learn not to pass up time with parents. ⌛

Anyhoo, I’d talked about finding a new cycling route, I had something in mind, and Dad drove me along where I planned going on the way to our walk. Definitely cycling there. 🚵 👍

The pink one is from about 2 weeks ago near my home, part of the long established housing scheme planting.

The white blooms, spotted today, are next to path through the woodland between Catmoor Woods and Quarrymill.

The much less familiar on this morning's walk started with noticing the new bridge over the ditch.

So I decided to go over it on my way back...

Aside from seeing the concrete arch stage of the land bridge over the new road take shape, it eventually looped into a bit of the wood I'd wanted to explore as I was sure it connected to an area I'd went to earlier in the year which I'd not had time to return to.

Today's walk took me to the familiar and the much less so in the woods north of Scone.

Another week, another woodpecker sighting, and this time in light and closeness that I could identify it with reasonable certainty. Halfway up the photo with the tree in the centre is a Greater Spotted Woodpecker. Honest. The camera doesn't have optical zoom or high enough resolution, unfortunately.
