I'm up to the #OuterLimits episode where the T-1000 is trapped in alien prison with Ezri Dax

The official #OuterLimits DVDs have:

-English audio
-French audio

They do NOT have:

-Spanish audio
-Closed captions in any language

Gotta pander to Quebec while pretending Hispanic and disabled folks don't exist, I guess.

@johnhowesauthor @mjc you can enjoy more than one thing though, surely? I tend towards hard #SciFi for reading (and I read a lot) but also love a good space opera. Very much less keen on fantasy which I’ve been known to describe as ‘wave a magic wand and get yourself out of a plot difficulty’.

But it’s out of the window when it’s film or TV 🤷‍♀️and a bit part of that is because it was TV particularly that was the gateway, via #TwilightZone, #OuterLimits, #DrWho and yes, of course #StarTrek

After the really great 1st episode of the latest season of #BlackMirror I found episodes 2 and 3 slightly underwhelming. The 3rd one didn't really fit the Black Mirror theme. It felt like one of those #OuterLimits stories (remember that show from the 90s?) where some kind of twist gets telegraphed long in advance (even if you don't know the exact nature of the twist).

Check out baby Richard Dawson from this episode of the original Outer Limits. Love him in this scene with Don Gordon. Dawson simultaneously giving us "quietly sinister" and "super swishy" vibes

The Outer Limits is my personal favourite of the various late 50s/early 60s US TV anthology series.

Second Chance, The Children of Spider County and Moonstone are pretty fair episodes.

The special effects are cheesy in this series but the ideas and the writing are excellent. Good clever well thought-out TV sci-fi.

First pressings of #TheMarketts hit were issued as #OuterLimits (after the TV series). #RodSerling (of all people) sued them for quoting the 4-note motif from #TwilightZone w/o his approval (???) which resulted in change to, um... Out of Limits???🤔

A random pic on my phone from a couple years ago. I was watching the #OuterLimits on my #System76 laptop. I love #scifi and #fantasies stories, along with so many other topics. Maybe I should add to my introduction? I really have a lot of diverse interests; but I think the #introvert in me is accustomed to never sharing anything with anyone (very few people at least).

I mentioned how much I loved the original The Outer Limits when I was a boy. The revival of the series in the 1990s was pretty good, too, though they didn't lean so hard on the scary.

Here's one of my favorites from that series: "Afterlife", starring the superb Clancy Brown.

Been working my way through The Outer Limits on Talking Pictures. It's all a bit 60s poe faced but I've just seen The Demon with the Glass Hand which is much better.
It's a decent if old skool series but when Harlan Ellison writes them they are a definite step up with a more involved concept and interesting characters.

When I was a kid in elementary school, I'd come home, grab a box of Sunshine Lemon Coolers, plop down in front of the TV, and turn on a rerun of The Outer Limits. By the time the show was over, the box of cookies was empty, and I was scared out of my gourd... but still hungry.
