Attempting a zero draft for a novel in script format for an experiment/giggles. Just curious--How many out there use the script format as a kind of outline and how strictly do you follow 'the rules' (I don't, lol)

Okay, so my spouses told me to just "write down the vibes" and honestly, they were right. I couldnt' get the words to go, but now that I'm doing an outline, it's actually coming together!

Question for all you out there: Do you work on more than one novel at a time?

What about for novels? Is the sky the limit?

Conglom-O Corp is our physical footprint across the country with so much work staying virtual. My location is affected. They are giving up a big chunk of our facility, including my office 😭.

Always felt like when I’d finally be packing it up, I’d be going to a better job/company or would have a fat severance check in hand. 🫤

Here's : Do not make overly detailed notes about a scene, especially when you are about to write that scene.

If you do that, and lock yourself into writing that scene as detailed, you'll likely find that you've drained all your interest in writing that scene. (This applies to overly detailed or , too.)

Best practice when is to hint about the scene, provide yourself an emotional hook—or many. Do this especially if you have to stop writing and continue later.

For me, I *want* to discover what my characters will do in tense, dangerous, or overly personal situations, to see their reactions. *This makes writing like reading, substituting page-writing for page-turning*. Works for me.

Yes, characters go off on tangents; I either or reprimand them severely! *Bad character!* More often than not, the result is delightful. I admit to two scenes in the last months, one 5 times, coming up with something completely different each time!

But. I'm an . Rewrites happen, am I right?

I just re-wrote the opening paragraph to a paper with @cbgoodman that has been languishing since...ahem...pre-pandemic and I'm feeling pretty good about it.

I write really detailed so that the actual writing is easy. This time I'm trying a hybrid approach. The outline is 75% done, but I'll definitely have to stop and do a little reading on some parts. We'll see how it goes.

Fortunately SVG exports from Figma help you turn typefaces into their as vector paths (with fills)...and we can use those as SVG ! 🤩

So if we craft a single path well enough, we can mask it all the way with the typeface's vector outline, and that should give us something that resembles .

Problem is that we have to hand-craft that single path, and my brain melts when I need to imagine how 700 pairs of numbers *look like*.

Wanted to start using properly so looked for what it could do. I’ve now fallen in love with the threaded cork board. It makes the sooo much easier! And it looks so cool as well. This will definitely aid my writing of my novel and any in the future.

Any other members have other cool Scrivener tools?

And here's the colored version of my Clairette and her brother.

I was fun drawing them.
