#OverTheGardenWall's getting pulled from #Max and will just be on #Hulu. With that shift, I wanted to pick up a copy of the season on #AppleTV (or The Artist Formerly Known As #iTunesStore), but they don't sell it there! (#PrimeVideo has it but, no, ew David) And the Blu-ray's discontinued! I don't like this world where shows can come and go with the wind.

I binged all of 'Over the Garden Wall' yesterday and I cannot praise it or recommend it enough. It made my autumn loving heart feel so full and seen. Gosh, it was wonderful 🍂 🍁 🎃

There may be hope that it will still be on #hulu.

Antes que otra cosa, #FelizNavidad

Aprovechando que tengo acceso a DisneyPlus revisé su catálogo para ver algo, mientras me refugiaba en mi cama de la lluvia navideña. Bueno, entre las películas encontré esta curiosidad: Nahuel y el libro mágico, de 2020, es una producción chilena de #Fantasía, cosa que me sorprendió bastante.

La historia es amena: trata de un niño, Nahuel, que obtiene un libro de gran poder: el Levisterio y un terrible brujo llamado Kalku lo quiere obtener para dominar a todos, así que Nahuel acompañado por una gama de curiosos personajes deben enfrentarse a este ser.

Se agradece que la historia no pretenda cotar más de lo que puede y desarrolla, dentro de sus posibilidades, a los personajes.

Dónde si tengo conflictos es en el apartado visual, no me mal entiendan, las imágenes son hermosas, fluyen bastante bien y las escenas de agua son muy buenas; no obstante el diseño de los personajes me conflictuó bastante. Me explico, por un lado tenemos a Nahuel y su papá que sentí que tenían un estilo más cartoon tirando a #StevenUniverse, Fresia la sentía más del universo de #GravityFalls o #Hilda, un personaje me evocó muchísimo a otro de #OverTheGardenWall, un demonio a personajes de #TheAdventureTime y el villano a personaje diseñado por Pasco y Rodri, sumado a que los fondos parecían en momentos para películas como #Wolfwalkers y en ocasiones muy de anime.

En pocas palabras me mareó el no sentir un único estilo de dibujo. No lo veo como una falla, solamente que es una muestra de lo mucho que nos falta en LatAm tener un estilo de animación más claro, pero se agradece que se arriesguen a contar cosastan bellas y potentes usando ese lenguaje tan denostado. Espero vengan más producciones así.
