I was referring to the toxic environment created by #Muskolini, whose free speech claims and right wing affinities echo "at least the trains run on time" rationalizations of Fascist enablers in 1930s Italy

IMO, regardless how useful it might seem in the short term, engagement #OverThere is an act of complicity

I tend to keep a low profile #overthere but with this thread getting modest attention, and my mastodon account linked in my username and bio, I figure I might be an early casualty. Does anyone know if movetodon will require an active Twitter account? ie, should I figure it out this evening?

I expected technical before social fraying #overthere, with all the layoffs, but I guess I misjudged. Wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last.

@BlackAzizAnansi Agreed. I mean, I like it here. It's so polite. But the culture that was created #overthere - the jokes, the clapback and care, the iron sharpening iron - the way we really became "fam" and created our own way of "knowing". I'm not sure that can be re-created here. Or maybe I just don't remember the other site before we became a phenomenon, and it will take a lot more time and patience.

I appreciate how the # of likes and boosts are hidden on the timeline.

And mastodon's lead developer's critique of QTs is making me think about how it's used #overthere
