The Tropical Display Dome is a geodesic dome that houses tropical plants in the subtropical climate of Brisbane. Inside, the air is heavy and warm, and the flowers are gorgeous.

The Japanese Garden in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-tha. It was originally made for the Japanese Pavilion at the World Expo in 1988, and afterwards given to the people of Brisbane. Very peaceful and relaxing. I wish I could hang out here all the time!

This Banyan Fig is a tiny but perfect version of the original. In the wild, banyans are figs that grow extra roots out of their branches, which descend into the ground like extra trunks. One single tree can spread over a large territory.

I recently got to visit the amazing Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-tha for the first time. One of the highlights was the Bonsai House! This Weeping Paperbark is a very cool example of bonsai of Australian native trees.
