wrote the last few blogs posts on https://janusworx.com/blog using #OrgMode in #Emacs and then copy pasted them and rewrote them using markdown
Wondering if it’s worth putting in the time, to move #Writing completely to Org mode using something like @kaushalmodi’s #OxHugo

I think I've made some progress on my #emacs #org journaling #Today Went ahead and set up - or, perhaps I should say made use of - my #NextCloud server as a repo for my org files...made some updates to my capture templates and #OrgJournal naming conventions....got a little more comfortable with checking out the emacs calendar...
All in all, even though it's not really all that much, I feel pretty good about it!
Eventually I may even do some #OxHugo stuff and replace my #WriteFreely site - but I don't want to get too carried away. 😂

#Today has involved doing a bit of work on my, what I'll refer to "writing site" seeing as I'm not a huge fan of blog. 😶
I'm thinking about going the #hugo route, in conjunction with #oxHugo because, why not? I figure it's a good way to continue the lifelong learning process and all that.
On the #ActualJob side, we continue to basically not hear from a certain vendor who we license one of our products from, with a deadline approaching sooner rather than later. Sigh.

@jtr I use #Hugo for my personal website at https://www.complete.org/ and #Wordpress for my blog at https://changelog.complete.org. I use #OxHugo to export my #OrgMode files from #OrgRoam for my website. It took quite some fiddling to get set up, but now that it's set up, it Just Works.
I wouldn't use it for a blog, though, due to lack of comments, ActivityPub integration, etc.

I have #tiddlywiki today, and while I don't know how to mess with it's javascript core, I mostly don't need to. It comes with enough options to build macros and lists I have no idea how to tackle on my hugo site.
Again, nothing against hugo, it's a great site builder, and #oxhugo makes it seamless to write from #orgmode , but man... you introduce one fix, you break two other things. I'm tired of it.

Ox. Hugo. Why not both?
On why I recommitted to building my personal web site with ox-hugo.
I started migrating from ox-hugo to pure Org Mode, but am having second thoughts. Thinking about handling webhooks, creating new markdown for events, and regenerating quickly. Hugo might still be a good "compilation target".
I'm currently avoiding work and putting my Emacs skills to the test by trying to figure out @kaushalmodi's #OxHugo and #hugo so I can get my website running.
@daviwil using #evilmode with #orgmode and #magit to generate a static HTML site and/or throw it to #oxhugo and run #hugo in an eshell/vterm buffer. I imagine that entire workflow should be pretty appealing and show off a lot of the power of emacs while being very accessible to #neovim users.

If you're curious, check out #oxhugo https://ox-hugo.scripter.co/ by @kaushalmodi . It's his "fault" that I got my blog going ;)
If you use org mode all day like I do, it definitely beats other methods I used before. Hugo and blogging off of git is not for everyone, but if you don't mind it, it's awesome.
Feel free to ask more, and there's also the #blogging tag on my blog :)
@kaushalmodi@mastodon.technology This is some excellent next level support!!! Thanks so much, that totally worked. I'll read into the underpinnings more tomorrow.
I hope you saw my kudos to you on my original write-up, otherwise it just seems like pandering now 😆 . Seriously, thanks again for the help and more importantly the excellent #oxhugo project, I'm barely scratching the surface!
#oxhugo is such a fun way to write blog posts. I love that you can turn an organized text file into a blog.
gods I love a well organized plain text file. They give me nerd boners every time.
I finally created my personal website: #emacs #orgmode > #oxhugo > #hugo #staticsites > #cicd on pages.sr.ht using custom domain (still building locally until I hack together an elisp publish script to create the build environment).

If anyone has any suggestions or feedback, I would very much appreciate learning new/better approaches. Repo @ https://git.sr.ht/~shom/shom.dev
