When I'm writing, it's the emotional connection with my characters that inhabits me as I create their stories; it's what shines through the most. I've always been a deeply feeling person, who shows my emotions and experiences other people's pain and joy in extreme measures. I've been told, in my past, that I was 'too emotional' but as I've grown older, I've realised that it's my ability to empathise deeply, to understand and explain emotions, to connect, to write characters and stories with heart, that makes me who I am; it makes me whole.

I guess I'm supposed to do an introductory post? What are they called here - trumpets? Anyway, I'm an #Adelaide based children's & YA #Author, Weaving Diverse Stories of Nature, Magic & History. I'm also a freelance writer & speaker for hire. I have a PhD in #psychology & worked in #mentalhealth for decades. I live with #type1diabetes, #anxiety, #ADHD & assorted #chronicillness. My debut #loveozmg #historicalfiction time-slip adventure set at #MtBuffalo featuring Guide Alice, is out 2023 with Riveted Press! I'm currently writing an Australian WWII drama. In my past, I've done many things! I have a certificate in #design & worked as a sustainable interior stylist for a while. I love #vintage style & #upcycling. In 2001 I founded an award-winning online #diabetes counselling service & ran this for 16 yrs, being a state finalist in the Australian of the year awards for this work.
