I thought some of you might like to see these yellow-tailed black cockatoos.

I spotted them in Bellerive, Hobart.

This bearded dragon on a dirt track did not budge when I came across it on my bike. I was a bit concerned it was dead, but no - with a slight touch it went into scary mode

As someone who lives with funnel web spiders (and other 'deadly' spiders, especially mouse spiders here in the New South Wales Central Coast), I've been interested in knowing more about them. If you are interested in their behaviour, this might be for you:

A motorcycle racing media colleague noted that riding from Vic to Tailem Bend in SA there were a large number of wombats on the road. They've been flooded out & are desperately seeking new territories (the wombats, not my mate). Take care if travelling through the flooded areas.

Looking through some old photos and trying to work out where to travel in Australia next year. This is still one of our best echidna photos, taken at Cape Willoughby on Kangaroo Island, South Australia during my spouse's PhD research.
