Re In 2016, the Panama Papers scandal revealed a broken tax system. #pCBCR was our response. This law obliges big multinationals to disclose where in 🇪🇺 they do business, make profits and pay taxes. Any attempt to limit tax transparency are incomprehensible and unacceptable. (2/3)

The @FT has revealed that behind closed doors the @OECD is trying to stop Australia from implementing its own public Country-by-Country directive. This is very damning and shows once again how powerful the #pCBCR directive will be to stop #taxavoidance

Re But we don’t have to look abroad when pointing to a scandal concerning the #pCBCR implementation. Kind reminder; the @EU_Commission attempted to limit the transposition possibilities of #pCBCR. Which is why we are putting this issue on the #EPplenary agenda.

The public Country-by-Country Reporting directive is regaining momentum. The 2021 negotiations were tough, as we faced significant opposition. Yet, it also seems that opposition on tax transparency is now coming from the @EU_Commission itself #pCBCR
