@elmyra I don't know what the consensus is , but I would never take part in any research using graded exercise therapy. There's huge risk of making your illness worse, especially if you have post exertional malaise.

The old "PACE" trial was full of flaws. See me-pedia.org/wiki/PACE_trial and virology.ws/2015/10/21/trial-b

It's the 5th anniversary of this paper.

A lot of it was only possible due to Alem's heroic FOI victory, which the team fought so hard to stop. That surely wasn't because the real results weren't as flattering as they had presented them?

Today is 6-year anniversary of this rejoinder, where we defend our recovery reanalysis paper which found no difference in rates of recovery from w/ graded exercise therapy or CBT vs specialist medical care-alone group in £5m

“CONCLUSIONS: The provides no evidence that CBT and GET can lead to recovery from . The recovery claims made in the PACE trial are therefore misleading for patients & clinicians”

It's 6-year anniversary of this paper of mine. It could be useful if somebody feels coerced into doing graded activity or exercise programmes; also to counter claims that the showed graded activity programs are safe.

Dr Coyne can be controversial but when we were faced with the might of the British establishment who were supporting the , he made useful contributions. Alem won his own FOI case in August 2016 & that contributed to the collapse of the CBT/GET empire.

Six-year anniversary of the reanalysis paper on recovery in £5M

The PACE researchers had spent hundreds of thousands trying to keep the data to themselves, but Alem Matthees heroically won the case & got the data released.

It showed that "the claim that patients can recover as a result of CBT and GET is not justified by the data, and is highly misleading to clinicians and patients considering these treatments."
