Today's #megafauna is #pachycephalosaurus. 26ft long and weighing 6600lbs, this #dinosaur's name means 'thick-headed lizard.' Its most distinctive feature is the bony dome on top of its head, which likely protected the brain as it head-butted rivals' flanks. The bone's structure is spongy, and was probably too fragile to go head-to-head.

All of what we know about this dinosaur comes from skulls.
Draco Rex may actually be a juvenile example, but no transitional specimens support this theory.

I had the weirdest, funnest time in #theIsle today. Was a #pachycephalosaurus and was walking through the fields when a herd of 6-ish other pachies ran out of the bushes and broke my leg. Forced me to sit, and my herdmate to sit too. It felt like a mafia forcing us against each other. Wanted us to do rock paper scissors, and kept braking our legs or fracturing our bodies to keep us there. Herbmate fled, and mafia fed me to a #deinosuchus

The Serpent skin for Pachycephalosaurus is also based on a single concept. I always wanted to make a skin inspired by snakes but it is definitely a challenge making pattern from a limbless animal into something with a completely different body plan. I'm happy with this result and I hear others are too! #gamedev #pathoftitans #pachycephalosaurus #paleoart

I am very proud of this skin for the Path of Titans Pachycephalosaurus. I only made a concept for pattern one and experimented with the remaining ones in Substance painter for their final design.

Greeting you all with the most meek of hellos- it's certainly been a minute since I last posted, and so much has changed since then. It seemed like as good a time as any to clean up my online presence a bit, and see where this new, ah, chapter of social media goes, eh?

I haven't stopped drawing! Here's a recent life study from a skeletal reconstruction at the Dinosaur Resource Center,made with watercolor pencil on mixed media paper.
