Well, that's time. It's not the result I hoped for, but certainly the one I expected.

About 22 minutes into the #CanChamp23 match between #ForgeFC (#CanPL) and #CFMontreal (#MLS).

It's been a very entertaining match so far. I really hope we get to see a Cupset tonight. Forge has a chance to do it, and I definitely wouldn't count out #PacificFC in their match against #WhitecapsFC later tonight.

With how they play, it looks like any match against Vancouver is going to be a single goal match until their defense is solved. They have a very solid wall, but not a whole heck of a lot of attacking capability.

Pacific pulled themselves together and started to perform more as expected, but there were still a fair number of sloppy moments.

It's going to be an interesting season!

While Pacific are clearly a better side, Vancouver has demonstrated that they are definitely a worthy #CanPL squad. They've had a couple of chances and have frustrated Pacific consistently.

Pacific is underperforming, which is a little unexpected.

I was originally rating Pacific in top-3, but they're down to 4th or 5th following the 1st half performance. Hopefully, they will pull themselves together in the 2nd half.

Making a third costume change into my #PacificFC jersey for the third match might be a little much though...

Finally, I had the chance (and permission) to put up the soccer wall. My spouse wouldn't let me put up scarves, but my stadium prints were greenlighted.

Sadly, it looks like I need to update 3 of them.

York9 has since been renamed #YorkUnitedFC, #PacificFC's stadium is now called Starlight, and #VancouverFC has replaced #FCEdmonton (poster hidden with coming soon logo).

If I ask really nicely, I just might be able to get the #CanPL scarf up above the prints, which would tie it all together.

I've been using Mastodon since January 2022, first @srgray@climatejustice.social and later as @srgray@sunbeam.city . Over the year, I've found that I toot less about gardening, environmentalism, and #solarpunk, and more about my #fitness journey and #CanSoccer.

Although I originally was a supporter of #PacificFC, most live matches are too late in the evening to catch the match, so I'm swapping allegiance for #AtleticoOttawa.

@evanecclestone Absolutely! I'm near #PacificFC, which I think is a secure team, but our #CPL is a small league. It doesn't necessarily need to be bigger, but lose one or two teams and the competition is suddenly leaving out so much of the country geographically, so much of the population without even a "near" team.
