Real friends are too unreliable for such things when they’re into their 30s/40s. And I don’t want time wasters neither. 100% rapt attention or get out. No screwing around on your bloody phone when #DeNiro and #Pacino are parleying in the cafe.

Pacino and De Niro in this one, of course.
I'd forgotten just how great it is. Not that a Godfather movie really needs its virtues to be extolled, but it's easy to lose touch of classic cinema, such is the frequency and availability of newer fare. This is epic storytelling of the very highest calibre.

It's still not as good, overall, as the first 2, but the ending, from the opera steps and #Pacino's best bit of acting, to the final shot with the added text making clear Michael's fate, is almost as good as those of the originals. The writing was just a bit off, but the part after the ellipsis pierces.
Looks great on #4K #UHD but some early dialogue is a bit muddy.

Last night I saw Bang the Drum Slowly (1973). My 8th De Niro film in which he plays a terminally ill baseball player. Its sentimental but he plays it understated and I can't deny it hits the dramatic beats well
