1. #opensuse #tumbleweed and #nixos on my primary and experimental laptops
2. #chezmoi to synchronize dotfiles
3. #nix #packagemanager to manage command line utilities across distros with #homemanager
4.i. #kdeplasma + #lattedock + #touchegg preferred on #opensuse
4.ii. #i3wm on #nixos

Does anybody have a recommendation for a #macOS #PackageManager that is less “helpful” and instead simply does what one asks it to do? #HomeBrew’s approach of “oh, this looks a bit outdated so let me ‘help’ you with this” is starting to get on my nerves.

I haven't been able to get #homemanager working yet (running #nix #packagemanager on #arch).. but I'm targeting something like:
- homemanager config to ensure git, cheznoi, etc are installed
- chezmoi to update dotfiles
From what I've heard, I won't need #chezmoi at all once I'm familiar enough with the #homemanager setup, but that's a steep learning curve, and not in the immediate future.

Personally, I think all are good ideas, tho #Snap is better for #Server, #FlatPak better for #Desktop and #AppImage works best for single standalone executeables.
I've used all 3 of them and I do prefer Flatpak for Desktop since it has a proper #PackageManager [unlike #AppImage] and is wider adopted than Snap...
