The problem with it is that the messages are unencrypted. So we need either a POCSAG receiver board that supports encryption, or a phone app that can #OCR what's on a #pager screen to decrypt it.

It's tuned by default to the DAPNET Web frequencies, which are in the ham 70cm band, on 439.987500 MHz.
There is a worldwide DAPNET network, but (alas) the closest existing one to me on the map is in Toledo Ohio, unlikely that I'll hear any signals from there.

In fact that's why I want to do the #PocketCrypto as an encrypted #pager system:
an RTL-SDR passively scanning the 27MHz band and decoding AFSK on a @Raspberry_Pi #Pi0 isn't taking much power at all...
And it'll likely be able to charge a huge-ass LiFePO4 cell with a few mins of cranking too...

I've had excellent service from the #DAPNET support team, and have everything registered and online (including my pistar for tx)
And, it worked!
