Lovely. Another migraine aura. At least this time I was able to take Tylenol before the headache arrives. Fingers crossed that it won't be too bad. Sleep mask for me. Maybe I can sleep in a bit.

I go through periods of insomnia like this, often linked to pain flares. I picked up the term #painsomnia a few years back from the #ChronicPain community. It's quite fitting.

The old age bladder doesn't help. I get woken about every 3 hours. Pain levels determine if I go back to sleep easily or not.

Oh, and melatonin wasn't doing her part. We broke up quite a bit ago.

I've acknowledged defeat. #painsomnia has won the day. Sitting and sipping coffee.

Good morning.

A bit of a rough night. Sleep was late coming, and highly fragmented, probably due to that pain flare that started late in the evening. I woke up about an hour ago, and yet managed only around five and a half hours of sleep.

And to top that off, I woke up with a migraine headache. I guess I slept through the usual aura, so I missed the opportunity to take something before the pain arrived. I've taken some Tylenol, and am drinking a bit of caffeinated tea.

Waking up when the painkillers stopped working and not being able to get back to sleep until the new dose gets active. Does this count as #painsomnia ? [Honest question]

@LikeItOrLumpIt I try not to sleep during the day, but if I've had painsomnia for a couple of nights then I can't keep my eyes open.
