Needed new #paintbrushes for my currently in progress #artcommission at @caplanartdesigns so off to one of my local #artsupplies meccas @columbiaart ... where they also have #sketchbooks on their "buy one get one" shelves!!! I got a bunch of them too!!

Yes, I still make my #artistbooks from scratch - like my book "Coffee Beans Plus H2O" that is currently in an exhibit at the Bainbridge Island Art Museum @bimuseum.of.art - but my friend @laurarussell23 gave me some really good advice some time ago that has encouraged my #blankbook filling habits...(thanks again Laura!)

Wondering what artist use to cut paint cost on large canvases? I am very open to experimenting with alternative types of paint if people have experience and want to share. My prefer style would run to thick paint although I do cut water or gloss depending on type of paint. I like vibrant color and would particularly love to hear about use of off beat paints Of course would prefer water based if poss.

I got some art supplies for Christmas. Some brushes I need for my watercolor class. Some graphite watercolors I want to try. And some gouache paints to try. Gouache is acrylic but you can use water with it like watercolor. So it's like an opaque watercolor.
