Now that my instance seems to slowy recover (a huge thank you to the admins who continue to dedicate a lot of work towards handling the huge influx of new users) I can do a service-toot about miniature.photograhy.

Thank you to the two dozen people who registered and are actively helping me with ironing out issues. You are all awesome.

Getting more experience with Pixelfed, I thought I'd share a few tips that I'd consider helpful:

* Please add a description to your pictures, so visually impaired people have a chance to know what you post about. Unfortunately this is a bit hidden in the UI, but when you create a new post, click on Advanced -> Media Descriptions.

* Please enable 2FA for your account. I'm already seeing "interesting" requests in the logfiles that smell like malicious login attempts. If you don't know how, feel free to reach out to me. :)

* Please add a license to the pictures you post, this makes it easier for everyone to decide if your pictures can be used / shared. You can do so per post or add a default one in your profile settings, under Media -> Default License.

If there are any question, at all, please just reach out to me. Either on the site via DM, here on Mastodon (although it might take a while until I receive the message) or via mail, pixelfed@miniature.photography.
