random thought about Permian and Triassic climates: To me, the huge ocean Panthalassa seems like a good recipe for huge atmospheric rivers: it was huge, it had lots and lots of warm water, and in warm climate the air could take up a huge amount of water. (This is how I imagine the Carnian pluvials, for example.)

I am here analysing samples in the hunt for #fire events. Key steps are Sr maps so we can build precise chronologies in our annually laminated samples, and maps of metals, because they're not always distributed evenly across growth layers. On January 11th I had my PhD defence on âClumped isotope thermometry in deep time palaeoceanographyâ in the senate hall of @UtrechtUniversiteit!
The thesis will be available in half a year https://doi.org/10.33540/1425 so that I can try to wrap up some papers, but if you're interested just send me a PM or email and I'll gladly send it to you! I have a few paper copies of the book available, but I can easily send the PDF!
