@Binder very happy to hear it's more approachable. I bought it on release because the devs' history is so singularly great and I was so glad it was finally getting a bit of work on aspects I thought looked a little intimidating.

I'm cool with #Paradox levels of systemic complexity (though my #Palatinate playthroughs of #Victoria2 are always disastrous), but DF definitely gave me pause.

Probably just another 300 hours left to beat #EldenRing and I'll be ready to install it....😬

🍇 Wine and more #wine! In 1934, Germany’s #Palatinate region had a bumper crop of grapes. Thus, #Germany’s first wine route was born, to bring tourism to the area’s quaint wine villages. At various points, arches were constructed. Today, many open-air wine festivals are held annually, from March-October.

Here, we were barreling towards the Leinsweiler Hof arch.

I'm most interested in #color. I start with my camera settings more #saturated, and process my photos for color nuance. My aim is to create a slightly dreamlike effect. This is the signature I'm developing.

These clouds hang over vineyard grapes. At the treeline is the tower of the oldest church building in all of #Pfalz (#Palatinate), #Germany, built at the cusp of the 10th century.

🍇 Living in the ”Tuscany of Germany,” surrounded by vineyards, we get more sunlight than other regions. (Most of Germany is endless gray skies from Nov. to March.)

Machinery harvests the many grape varieties grown, sometimes leaving bunches unpicked at the ends of rows. These are delicious Grauburgunder, related to Pinot Gris.

🍇 During last #autumn’s outstanding colors, I took photos along the German Wine Route in the #Palatinate (#Pfalz) region. It runs through 85 kilometers of #vineyards and countless winemaking villages. (I live in one.)

Here I used intentional camera movement, and this is as-shot, only slightly cropped.

🌄 When my husband and I are taking a longer drive somewhere, I often bring my camera and big lens, just in case there's a fleeting opportunity through the car's windows. This is one such shot, taken in the #Pfälzisch (#Palatinate) region of #Germany, where I live. I love autumn, the sun breaking through storm clouds, and mountains, so this was a win-win-win. In the valley below are vineyards after the harvest.
