Last week, #AWHC on-the-ground observers captured photos and video of a beautiful #palomino stallion who suffered a painful broken leg while trying to escape the trap site. The valiant stallion managed to garner all his strength to run off on three legs, but was eventually pushed by a #helicopter toward wranglers, roped, and euthanized 35 minutes after sustaining the horrific injury.

Nun ja, das ist #Palomino, mein Pferde-Senior. Das Sandbad nach der Dusche heute hat er sehr genossen.
Regen wäre aber auch mal ganz schön, auf den Weiden gibt es nur noch Heu am Halm. Zum Glück war die Heuernte sehr gut.
Übrigens, Herr Palomino ist ein Spanier ;-)

it is now almost 2 months after #Palomino's eye surgery and 5 weeks in vet hospital.
He's in good mood. You still can see the flap at his left eye, but it's very small now.
A little bit too skinny though. Waiting for spring and fresh grass.

Moin! Very busy days, but #Palomino is doing well. Now only 2 x day eye drops and every second week vet check (he had cornea surgery in 7-Nov 2022, back home from vet hospital 2-Dec 2022).
Sunset now 4:10 pm (well, we do not see the "sun" often these days, but the grey looks brighter).
74 days until spring.
