Trying and failing to quickly use #pandas in Python, again.
Nothing about the terminology or syntax makes sense to me. There's lots of documentation, but is it the right documentation?

Do I just need to spend longer learning how to use it, or is it fundamentally hard to use because it's inside Python and I should learn R instead?

Can someone explain why I am so confused about #polars? The pitch is "it's like #pandas but lightning fast!". But I don't think I have ever given pandas' performance a single thought before. Am I just not doing "hardcore" enough work to warrant consideration of polars?

Rule of thumb: When working with #Pandas on a CSV file - and I mean actual CSV, not some ascii gibberish- and someone suggest using a #RegEx, it's almost always a bad, nay, very bad idea. 🤭

Something that you can easily avoid by using your local #Python with #pandas or #polars and other available today packages. I don't see any benefit on this announcement...

#Python is now officially supported in #Excel!

As much as I like to pretend that I dislike anything #Microsoft related (except VS Code, of course), I often find myself turning to Excel for small tasks, particularly when collaborating with non-coder colleagues. This new Python support, in particular the ability to represent ranges of Excel cells as #Pandas DataFrames, and use #Matplotlib and #Seaborn for plotting, could be a game change for these applications.

I think someone did this the other day on the #Python forums https://discuss.python.org/ with #OpenCV and then used #Pandas. Will check if I can find the post. I haven't personally done it.
