First off: Can you hear me?

If so, can someone help me with trying to turn an #ObsidianMD vault into propper #HTML so I can put it on some website and have other read them? Links includes, of course, all that stuff.

I've toyed with #pandoc but all it outputs is ok-ish looking text, zero html functionality, particularly no links.

Spent well over an hour trying to find a way to convert folders of #Obsidian .md files to .rtf (or .txt) files to reimport to Apple Notes because #Obsidian on iOS has been iffy recently. Tried #Pandoc but it won't install/work. I keep getting a path error (even with the Obsidian plugin), and Git Hub is far to confusing for a non-developer like me.

Think I'm going to just switch to plain text files and be done. It's easier.

#mozilla #seamonkey's html editor + #pandoc + #hugo make an amazing team. Seriously! I'm writing up a full blog post now on how to use it now.

Really liking #quarto even if only as a neat build system for @pandoc with nice integrations. Currently building a presentation in #RevealJS using @gmcd 's quarto-revealjs-clean presentation style in #VSCode in #Flatpak using #DevContainers (on @Podman_io 8-D) with a custom #pandoc filter by @odin for smart „German“ quote marks.

The result is dead simple to setup and code (thanks to #Markdown), any tool that can run dev-containers should pull in all build dependencies, and I simply vendored the presentation style & the filter. And I get beautiful output, a free speaker view.

Anyone want to help with a pandoc weirdness? pandoc (specifically 'citeproc') seems to be converting 'and' to a semicolon in publisher names, e.g. "Chapman and Hall" becomes "Chapman; Hall" in the output. #pandoc is just such a great tool. From TeX with bib and cls to DOCX within a few seconds.

I've been looking for an option to install #pandoc on #opensuse, and it took me a long time to figure out that `pandoc-cli` was the package I was looking for, and that the version number of the package (0.1.1.1) had nothing to do with the version of pandoc that installs with the package (3.1.3). 🙈 I'm glad it's working now. 😆

@tschneid Ich nutze die einfachen $$ in Markdown immer für Inline-Formeln (z.B. in #HackMD und mit #PanDoc geht das so) - scheint aber kein genereller Markdown-Standard zu sein. Ich werde mal testen, ob die \\(...\\)-Variante in den anderen Markdown-Interpretern läuft.

A browser plugin to quickly copy an article's #BibTeX entry to the clipboard.

#GoogleScholar's can be wildly wrong, #WebOfScience is weird, slow and #paywall'ed, doesn't really have books and often makes ALL CAPS entries (wtf). Best ist to grab the citation directly from the publisher. But every website does it differently and some only have RIS or something and you need to convert it with #pandoc 🙄

A plugin to simplify this would be very helpful.
