Upon turning 18 in otter-years, by tradition since the time of Sang Nila Otter-ma, a young #otter must embark on the 'Ottersey'. The youngest eligible otter from each major otter clan will journey towards the heart of the island to gather & exchange greetings and knowledge. This site is known to the #otters as the Central Water Catchment and it presents an abundance of fish to catch.

Yes I’ll collect tokens too if there is a cool animal on it. :) With regards to #aardvarks there’s way more to choose from on the postage stamp side of things, with a good number of #African countries having put them on their designs. As it’s World Pangolin Day here’s another shot of the one that turned up on my garden fence one night during the rainy season. A desperate attempt to avoid the neighbourhood dogs. I got mine inside and it was able to proceed on its way, hopefully to safety. Manis javanica or pentadactyla? Both species Critically Endangered, i.e. face an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild.   #wildlife #conservation #pangolins #environment
