Pansy Division was one of rock's first openly gay bands. Over the years, the group has become known for NSFW, funny songs including a Weird Al-style Nirvana spoof, "Smells Like Queer Spirit." Yahoo Entertainment talked to singer/guitarist Jon Ginoli and bassist Chris Freeman about their 30-year career, smashing stereotypes about "gay music," and being seen as a novelty act.

Queercore, homocore of gaycore is een sociale en culturele beweging, die vanaf eind jaren tachtig aan invloed won. In de muziek zijn de belangrijkste bands #tribe8 die mee gingen in het succes van de riot grrrl beweging en grunge en #PansyDivision opgericht door #JonGinoli één van de eerste artiesten die openlijk uitkwam voor zijn geaardheid.
In de begindagen werd alles verspreid via queercore zines, die later via internet verspreid werden.

“Horny in the Morning” is one of my favorite #PansyDivision songs and this morning is proving that once again. For some reason the early AM hours are for cock and little else. I’m not complaining at all!

Just surprised since yesterday I got laid and I thought I had temporarily satisfied the #PowerBottomBussy.

Apparently not.
