I have plans for them, exploring the philosophical idea of vicarious memories. I.e. when we 'remember' our parent's early life, because they repeatedly told us about it.

The metamorphograms from a little while ago are done. They were exposed for about 4 days.
This one was the maple leaf. There are at least four distinct layers in shades of blue.
My poor folding of the stalk of the leaf is shown in all it's chaotic glory!

Started some #metamorphogram (cyanotype mixed with origami) images.
Folded from archival tissue paper, which results in poor origami, but the image will be what I need.
Maple leaf, by Peter Engel. Argonaut and Flat Shell w/10 segments by Tomoko Fuse.
Exposing for... a while... in a contact frame.
Ably assisted by Border Collie.

Not all origami starts with a square of paper.
These spiral forms (based on Tomoko Fuse designs) are drawn in InkScape.
I print and join pieces to get an A2 size template.
Cut the form from A2 tracing paper. 'Trace' the lines with a pressing tool (e.g. dry pen nib).
Fold, to get the finished form. In this case, it's about 25cm tall.

Sometimes it's just good to make.
This is an octagonal helix made from a piece of craft paper about 2 metres long and 40 cm wide.
It's based on a design from Tomoko Fuse's book, 'Spiral'.

Prototype with some scrap paper so it's not as sturdy as it should be. Love the sculptural qualities of this form and can think of lots of things to do with it. Just used markers for now, so the lines aren't crisp.
Apologies for the vertical video. 🤢 I shot this for an Instagram Reel. Compressed the hell out of the gif to bring the file size down. Imagine the sweet sound of paper rustling.
