Ein Foto mit alter Holz-Plattenkamera und 190mm-Aplanat auf ein Blatt 13x18 Fotopapier (Foma Grad. 2 oder 3), Scan vom Negativ. Das ist tricky, weil Papier weniger Spielraum hat als Negativfilm, aber wenn die Belichtung passt, hat es charmante alte Anmutung. Vielleicht wg. der Rotunempfindlichkeit des Papiers – die Tonwerte haben dann Ähnlichkeit mit Opas Glasplatte.

While spraypainting the inside of my camera black, the heater ignited the gasses and they exploded. I lost my eyelashes and the hair on my hands and arms, but did not get wounded. The respirator protected my beard.
Still, the hardest partnis figuring out how to make the door for the trays with chemicals and the trunk to put my hand in. Once that is done, I need to make a tripod mount.

Meanwhile, another project emerges. I found an antique Chinese money box, perfect to make an box camera out of, with a built in dark room to develop the photo paper in. I have a nice 1905 brass barrel lens for it.
Step 1: making the box light tight. The bottom of this case has been replace once, but that wood had since shrunk. I widened the gaps on a table saw so I could slide wood in it.

Maps hold hidden stories, in the names, in the places between the names, in the altered landscape they fail to show. Those stories are always there, somewhere beneath the surface.
