1. A fork in the road
2. Paxos Made Simple (the first Paxos paper is too awful to even complain about)
3. Fischer-Lynch-Paterson
4. The priority inheritance paper
5. Hans Boehm's synchronization white paper

If I ever start a series of #PapersIHate, I'd probably start with that one.
