Papiamentu (meaning “blabber”) is a fascinating creole language widely spoken in the Caribbean Netherlands (Aruba, Bonaire and #Curaçao), where it has official status (A and C). It is predominantly based on colonial #Portuguese and #Spanish, with much of its vocabulary adopted from #Dutch, English and native American languages.
