The layout of this #ancient ritual manual is regular, the handwriting neat and clean, and the coloring of the ink is very even, all signs of a practiced scribe.

The #Greek #magical papyrus PGM XIa was inscribed on the back of an #account dated to July 336 AD.
This is why we know that the magical text can be dated to the late 1st half of the 4th century at the earliest.
The handwriting adds more insight and the text is dated to the 4th/5th century.

Voll in den Workflow integriert habe ich sie noch nicht, das könnte spannend sein. Doch Stilverbesserung mache ich lieber selber mit meiner Leib-und-Magen-Schreibsoftware #Papyrus. Das wird nicht so glatt und austauschbar wie mit ChatGPT.

as i was weeding the other day, i found what i think is a tiny #papyrus plant! i must have planted it & forgotten.
it looks just like the larger papyrus i have elsewhere (pic 3), including the distinguishing "tall bit with more leaves coming out" (pic 2).
i still haven't figured out exactly where papyrus wants to live in our climate, but these ones aren't dead yet!
they're meant to grow in water, but the air is water here, so they can grow in soil maybe
