@joeystan Non-New Orleans parade culture is so weird for anyone who has lived in . It's like no one outside of knows how to do (i.e., I would go to any NOLA parade any time of year and have a ball but have no interest in others' parades, not even the Day Parade).

I’ve been to several times - absolutely love it - but I had always intentionally avoided season because . This spring I was living there for 6 months so couldn’t avoid the , and I learned it’s not about the tourists - these are parties for the locals! And yes, such a blast, but I missed (work). Something deep inside me just resonates with that place. (And omg: parades - I’d never even heard of them before!)
