I needed to calculate #dividends received on a stock I sold a few years back, so I gave #chatgpt the #parameters and asked it for the result. Then I calculated it manually. ChatGPT was off by a factor of 3. Ironically, the stock involved was #microsoft. So be careful! #ai #artificialintelligence

I’ve been experimenting with ways to ‘tune’ conversations, that is, setting the style and other aspects quickly and easily without having to type out essays describing what I want. This led me to parameterise the conversation with an initial prompt template of sorts. It seems to work relatively well and lead to some interesting results, though with some caveats.

Some influencers are going the route that we should not be concerned about issues with #AI #art and #copyright because "it will never be as good as real people".
Sorry, but it will. It will fake #emotions, it will fake life #experiences, it will fake #consciousness. It only takes some trillions of more #parameters and more #data.
Eventually it will do everything we do, and better. Whether then you want to be paid for YOUR data that made it possible, is the question.

One night I got bored and wanted to list out all of the #functions and their #parameters from my #r #package {TidyDensity}
So I got to work with #dplyr #purrr #stringr and some #baser #functions
The steps I took:
✔ use ls() to list all packages from "package:PackageName"
✔ use group_by() to group on the fns column created above
✔ use #purrr #map to get the #methods formalArgs to all fns
✔ drop the c and paste0 fns, (, params and the ending )

There can be many times in #statistics when you want to view data of the same #distribution with different #arguments to its #parameters as a #mixture of the two. With my #r #package {TidyDensity} this is easily achievable.
✅ Use base distribution functions like rnorm() yes!
✅ Use distributions from packages like actuar yes!
✅ Use built in distributions like tidy_beta() from TidyDensity yes!
