Shabbat Shalom! This week's is a double portion, one of which is Vayalech.

The question we wrestle with is literalism - are the words TRUTH or just Truth? (I believe the latter.)

This journal will have blank pages for taking notes, sketches, or just musing about what the Torah or Haftarah readings for each Parashat and Yom Tovim mean to you personally.

The Astronomical New Moon is today, I thought I would post pages from a lunch & learn I did back before Covid, to look at how Rosh Chodesh was determined in ancient times, and how those procedures give us very different English dates than the Rabbinate uses.

So when the Divine says observe Yom Kippur on the 10th of the month...what's more important, doing it on the actual 10th, or just doing it all together as a community?

This week's is Bo. The poem for my upcoming Wheel of the Year Journal illustration is my parasha, & reflects many of the difficulties I've had in my life. It's a bit sad.

The journal will have blank pages for taking notes, sketches, or just musing about what the Torah or Haftarah readings for each Parashat and Yom Tovim mean to you personally.

This week's Parashat is Va'era. The poem for my upcoming Wheel of the Year Journal illustration is about hardening our hearts in the modern age - turning away from those in need.

The journal will have blank pages for taking notes, sketches, or just musing about what the Torah or Haftarah readings for each Parashat and Yom Tovim mean to you personally.

I just realized I got busy and didn't post last week's graphic for my upcoming Jewish Wheel of the Year study journal. It was Parashat Shemot.

The journal will have blank pages for taking notes, sketches, or just musing about what the Torah or Haftarah readings for each Parashat and Yom Tovim mean to you personally.

@gilad73 In the past (on my other account that I’m no longer using) I’ve used like that.

But fro now on I’ll use - it’s more versatile!

@regordane Ah, this really helps actually! Previously I’ve used and then the title but it probably makes sense to stick with - that way it won’t matter where in the (English) sentence it sits.

@sheepchase

I reckon it ought to be because , literally "the parsha of", only makes sense when immediately followed by the title of the week's portion.

But the relative popularity of competing hashtags remains a mystery unplumbed by science or logic.

Finished this week’s portion ( ).

It has a sheepy bit:

“For all shepherds are abhorrent to Egyptians.”

Rashi says this is because sheep were deities to the Egyptians.
It also handily works out that the Israelites get choice grazing land.

One of the projects I'm working on is a Journal for studying the weekly & Yom Tovim.

Each reading will have a page of AI assisted artwork & a poem written by me, along with a heading on a blank page of what section of the Torah & Haftorah is supposed to be read that week.

People could buy one at any point in the Torah cycle, just pick up where we are on the calendar.

This past was Vayetzei, for example.

So, I'm curious about whether this platform is all about politics and economics, or is there a lot of art and music, poetry and literature?

Here's a poem I wrote for a project I'm working on, a journal for weekly study notes. This week's was Cheyei Sarah.

Here's the poem I wrote, about my mother's death some years back. We had not been on good terms for years.
