Some #technology and #parentingtip. To not become insane while stroller walking while kid is asleep or while putting to sleep i recommend audiobooks. I've found out that best headphones are the bone conducting ones (you will still hear if child is crying). Over 3 years I've listened to over 160 books :)
#parentingTip If you teach your preteens and teens how circumvent government restrictions. They'll think you're cool -- or at least useful.

#ParentingTip Ne dites pas à votre fille de 4 ans qu'une des chanteuses d'Abba est une vraie princesse (sauf si vous voulez vous dégoûter d'Abba par saturation)
#parentingtip just don't do a very good job. No one is grading you and kids love floor goldfish.

@seanmcp I’d argue it’s impossible to tell 😩 — #parentingtip We have a WiFi enabled light in their bedroom that is programmed to turn on at 6:30am. They’re not supposed to get out of bed or make noise UNTIL that light comes on.
It seems to work 9 times out of 10 to be honest.
FWIW kiddos are 6 and almost 2.
Parents with kinder/preschool kids:
If you want to give them a jump up on reading - and I would suggest this, as not 'getting' the basic skills of decoding words can make the rest of learning hard ...
There's a fantastic 'learn to read' or 'remedial reading' program called Intervention A that's open-source and free to use. As a parent who's gone through this a few times: I highly recommend reading through the activities yourself and giving them a go, to see where your child is up to. From there, keep going and help your kid boost their pre-reading and early reading skills. (It's better and more productive by far to do random 5 minute activities here and there, than to make a huge ordeal out of it!)
