Perhaps any big enough #socialNetwork resemble real life: every city has bad neighbourhoods, where we don't feel safe or at home. We learn to avoid bad people or dangerous zones. I have been asked to maintain our (#catholic) #parish page on #facebook and I found wonderful people there.

The other night, I translated the #birth record of Józefa Boniakowska (1882-83), the #stepdaughter of a distant relative. I downloaded it from #Geneteka #poland. Upon reading the #parish journal entry, I learned the child’s name was ANTONI Marcel Miliwodzki. This small fact was overlooked in the #Geneteka #Poland database. So the full record for Antoni is Jan 1858 - Feb 1860, #Ciechanów then in the #Płock Governorate of #CongressPoland. Good to know for the #future. #Genealogy #geneadons #Ancestry #familyhistory

Not everyday that you identify a hitherto unrecognised class of archaeological site. I present to you, the workings from which materials to build #river #embankments were extracted. Shallow, sub-rectangular cuttings. Three examples I identified today at #Fiskerton #Rolleston and #Staythorpe on the #RiverTrent #Notinghamshire. They're an admission that we live in an untidy, scruffy, couldn't care less society where waste is acceptable. I run a #Parish #ParishCouncil - we provide over 175 litter bins, yet we still get complaints about litter, and requests for more bins. It's like deciding that the answer to motorists killing cyclists is to build more mortuaries. The businesses that contribute to our litter problem (e.g. #FastFood shops) contribute nothing...
