The great #medieval fair at #Stourbridge outside #Cambridge (https://www.cam.ac.uk/research/news/the-800-year-old-story-of-stourbridge-fair) was commemorated last weekend at the #LeperChapel with dancing, singing, storytelling & craft stalls.

The #14thCentury accounts of the #LadyOfClare record purchases there over the years: salt, often; also furs & lambskins; smoked herring, cod & stockfish; rice & almonds. #Almonds were bought in great quantity, used by the pastry chef from Paris & to indulge the pet #parrots.

There's about half a dozen of them (maybe more but I've only seen that many in one go) that live at One Tree Hill a 10 minute walk away.

They aren't native and I think they are Australian but have no idea how they got here.

They seem happy enough and have been here for years - there's nothing much that's native here that would be a threat to them

I've never had a phone call with Trump so haven't had a need to use the voice recorder on my phone - I do now.

#photos from the #bird sanctuary near #Hardenberg in the #Netherlands! This is the Lorkeershoeve Bird Park, which cares primarily for birds donated or rescued from exotic animal trafficking. The yellow crested #cockatoo here is named Tommy, he is so friendly and social and just an absolute delight, visiting him is a highlight of my trips to the NL! ^^

Spent part of my day yesterday examining surrendered birds at the Center for Avian Rehabilitation and Education in Waukesha, WI. There's some pretty cool birds needing homes, including this social lil Senegal whose owner went into assisted living.
