Are you interested in building machine learning models in R, but not sure where to start? Look no further than the tidymodels package! In this post, we'll break down a simple code example that demonstrates how to build a linear regression model using tidymodels.

Here is post Part 3 for the tidyAML shiny app. I have added funcitonality for selecting a parsnip function. When I say parsnip function what I mean is something like linear_reg()

She's a bloody turnip. How many people actually like the taste of those things? 🤢
I feel the same way about parsnip too..

It's official!! My new R package {tidyAML} is out on CRAN
This is a 0.0.1 release and will serve as the basis of what the package can mature into.

I have been working on my #r #package 📦 {tidyAML} and most likely in a month or so the initial release will be ready. You can however if interested install the current version from #github now.
In today's post I am going to talk about a function I am thinking of introducing called at the moment argument_matcher().

I have built nice #boilerplate #functionality in my #r #package {healthyR.ai} to address doing xgboost on the fly without having to mess around to much. It does use the #tidymodels #parsnip #framework which I think is nice.
Here is a link to the post (should #github finish deploying it - failed multiple time already) https://www.spsanderson.com/steveondata/posts/rtip-2023-01-19/

Yesterday I posted on An Update to {tidyAML} where I was discussing some of my thought process and how things could potentially work for the package.

Underappreciated oceanographic tool of the day: the humble parsnip. Back in 1948, Lewis Richardson and Henry Stommel dropped pairs of parsnips into a Scottish loch and watched how each pair floated apart, to study how energy moves through the ocean. It turns out that the parsnip is the perfect ocean surface drifter. #ocean #oceanography #parsnip

If you want to #generate #multiple #parsnip #model #specifications at the same time then it’s really not to hard. This sort of thing is being addressed in an upcoming #r #package of mine called {tidyaml}
The idea?
🧠Do not create each model spec
🧠Don't know all the #algorithms that's ok, filter by something like "linear_reg"
🧠Don't know all the #parsnip calls but know #algorithms that's ok too, filter by something like c("lm","glm","glmnet"...)

Sometimes we just want to quickly #prepare #data for use in some #algorithm
With my #r #package {healthyR.ai} it is possible to do that for some #algorithms
Today I posted about hai_xgboost_data_prepper() which prepares data as best as possible for use with #xgboost
It takes in a #recipes #tidymodels object and can be used in conjunction with either the built in #boilerplate functions or with the #tidymodels #parsnip workflow as it outputs a recipe object.
