Lauren and I had arranged to meet up for a drink at a pub in town. I'd never done this before so I was a bit weary of how this would pan out. I mean, it wasn't the most conventional way of meeting someone, having your foot squashed by a high heel on a crowded train train.

I took my seat at the table. It wasn't too crowded so I was able to find a spot that was a little out of the way. The pub was humming, 80s music playing in the background and the after work crowd was getting lively. The fear was building now, looking down at my watch it was approaching 7 and she would arrive soon.

Sipping on my cider, she walked in through the crowded bar looking as magnificent as she did on the train. I had to pull myself together, nerves now reaching their crescendo. Nervously, I wave her over.

"Lovely to see you Lauren. Thanks for coming." I try hard not to stare but she was truly beautiful. I was smitten.

"I'll keep my heels on this side of the table tonight." We both laugh together, the ice well and truly broken.

This was going to be a good night.

I was curious to see how they followed up Time's Eye and I have to say they did a good job. I'm left with same problem as before: I know this is a trilogy, but they wrapped up all the drama in one book. What's next? I guess I'll have to keep reading to find out!

The Struggles Of An Unsound Mind

So, we wait, she cries and I wait. Comforting is not something I know how to do, I solve things, I help, comforting is something for another. I wait while she continues to tell me she doesn't need help and certainly does not want it. Eventually I stand and ask a few different questions and then try again. She finally agrees to me assisting her getting up and I get her set up to shower and dress fresh. I clean up what I can in the kitchen.
