Sometimes, my job is interviewing senators or covering presidential visits. Sometimes, it’s looking at dead livestock dumped in the desert in 100+ degree heat. I never know for sure what a day might bring. #PartyLikeAJournalist

Do people watch? Are these discussions valuable? I always wonder. In this instance, three of us discussed #immigration and the end of #Title42: two journalists who report at the border and an immigration attorney.

Are these shows valuable and how would we know one way or another?

It also amuses me because in my personal life, I am not someone people really want to hear from. But I go on TV and pretend I'm someone who has things to say that people want to hear. Ha ha.

I don’t know if this was “outrageous,” but back at the Las Cruces Sun-News I was assigned to interview the elderly owner of a historic dive bar here in southern #NewMexico.

When I got there, she sat with me at a table and said if I wanted the interview I’d have to do tequila shots with her. The shot glasses were brought out promptly.

I’ll say this for #Buttigieg and his staff: I asked for an interview or at least a question and follow-up. “You’re talking to local TV, how about a question for us?” They were hustling him off to his next thing. Told me they might call me while they were on the road. I figured it wouldn’t happen. They could have blown me off easily. Damned if they didn’t call me from the car and give me an interview. (And I actually asked infrastructure questions.) #journalism #partylikeajournalist

Winds have been 30 to 50 mph for three days with gusts up to 70 and dust storms.

Supposedly, the topic of discussion is going to be infrastructure.

On Tatooine I guess.

I may dress as Ben Kenobi and issue warnings about sand people.
